Abby grew up in Bargersville, Ind. and currently lives in Norwood with her husband, Mike and their daughter, Phoebe. Abby attended Purdue University where she studied agricultural communications and was involved with Reformed University Fellowship. Since 2014, Abby has worked as a freelance writer and administrator, helping publications, non-profits and small businesses develop and hone their communications strategies and content. Abby enjoys walking her neighborhood, traveling, reading, and hosting friends, family and neighbors in her home.

SHELBY SIMONS

b&c-48

Shelby is joining our staff team as our interim church musician while Pastor Brian is on sabbatical this summer. The National Clergy Renewal Foundation grant that Pastor Brian received for his sabbatical generously provides funds for Shelby to join the staff, leading our music team and working with the pastors on worship planning and liturgy.

Shelby grew up in Cincinnati, and married her husband Brian after they both graduated from Covenant College. They started attending New City after moving to Cincinnati in 2014, and now live in Norwood with their two children, Redding and Margot. Aside from enjoying motherhood, Shelby teaches piano lessons out of her home and serves on the worship team at New City. In a perfect world her days would consist of a steady diet of reading, crafting, being outside with her family, baking muffins, and watching anything BBC/Masterpiece Theatre/Great British Baking Show.
