Getting Ready for Sunday | 2/5/12
There is something special about the people of God coming together for worship (Hebrews 10:24-25). Thus, we hope Sundays at New City are a highlight of your week. In an effort to help you get more out of it, we're posting a short preview of this Sunday's gathering.
We are continuing to follow Abraham in our series Living in the Gap, this week diving into Genesis 14.11-24. Josh will be preaching on Two Portraits of Christ that we discover in this episode of Abraham's life. For previous sermons and study/discussion guides CLICK HERE.
This week our worship will culminate in the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Take some time to consider Matthew 26.26-29 in preparation.
The songs we'll sing together this week are:
- O For a Thousand Tongues (We'll be singing 11 of the 17 verses so buckle up! Here's a shorter, gentler version from a church in Athens, OH)
- Lead Us Back (from Sojourn Music's album Before the Throne)
- What Wondrous Love is This (by Matt Boswell on the album Songs for Lent by New York Hymns. This track is the 2nd to last and entitled "Jesus' Body Laid in the Tomb...Part 2" )
- Beloved (from Enter the Worship Circle)
- How Deep the Father's Love for Us (by Stuart Townsend)
- King of Saints (William Gadsby hymn retuned by Red Mountain Music)
See you Sunday!
