New Congregational Art Project
One of the highlights of 2020 has been our ojos art exhibit that corresponded with our Signs series that kicked off the new year. You can read more about that installation here.
As we close our Words of Resurrection series in a few weeks and look to our series on 1 Corinthians 13, we want to invite you (and your household) to join us in creating another piece of art in collaboration with our church family.
We invite you to print that sheet, then complete the sentence using one of the descriptors of love found in 1 Corinthians 13. Also included in the printable are several versions of 1 Corinthians 13 that you can make use of to complete your sentence. Please only use descriptors from 1 Corinthians 13 to complete the sentence.
We encourage you to complete the “Love _______" statement with a descriptor that has either challenged you in this season of COVID-19 or describes the way that you’ve been loved by others.
After you fill in the blank, you’re welcome to either leave your sheet as is, or you’re welcome to embellish it with watercolors, colored pencils, crayons, etc. Once your paper is finished, take a photo of your paper. Then, email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here are some tips to get a great photos:
- Lay the paper flat on the floor or table.
- Make sure there’s plenty of natural light.
- Take the photo on landscape mode.
- Leave a bit of space around the edges of the paper.
Bonus: if you’d like, take a picture or short video (5 seconds or less) of yourself holding your paper and email that along with your photo of your paper. We might use your photo in our web and social media presence.
We are excited to see your submissions and creativity, then to share them with your church! Thanks for joining in this project with us.
If you don’t have a printer at home, we have a limited number of paper copies available that we can mail or deliver to you. If you’re unable to print at home and would like to participate in this project, email email@example.com by May 14, and we’ll try to get a copy to you.
