Introducing... Our New Pavilion!
You may have recently noticed that we have constructed a new pavilion in the land next to our church building.
As we wait to move forward with our facilities master plan and in light COVID-19, we wanted to create an open air space for folks at our church and in our neighborhood to gather. The outdoor pavilion was approved by the city building and zoning and is available for community use.
The pavilion has already allowed our church to re-open modified nursery and kids’ classes, offer an outdoor evening service for those at higher risk, and host some small groups.
The structure is “temporary;” we had it made out of metal so that when we move forward with our master plan, we can donate the materials to an organization in need.
When we bought 4400 Floral Ave. six years ago, we worked with a team of architects and builders to save the building from being torn down due to its disrepair. A few years later, we purchased the two houses next door.
After much consideration and research, we learned that the dilapidation of the homes and the many code issues made it cost prohibitive to keep those structures. We cleared the lots this summer and made plans to move forward with creating an outdoor space to utilize as we wait to move forward with our master plan.
We hope this pavilion will be well used by our church and community. If you are interested in reserving the pavilion, fill out this form!
