VISION
New City exists to enjoy and proclaim the glory of God, and to make the kingdom of God visible by declaring and demonstrating the gospel - both to ourselves and to our community where we live, work, and play. In short, we want to celebrate Christ and serve our neighbors.
MISSION
We do this by connecting people to God, to community, and to mission.
VALUES
1 - Gospel Centered
The gospel is our central value and informs all that we do. The gospel is the power of salvation to anyone who believes. The gospel is the way that we enter the kingdom of God and the way that we grow in the kingdom.
2 - Spiritual Formation through the Ordinary Means of Grace
We’re not looking to reinvent the wheel, but rather to rely on the gifts God has given us. Christians grow through regular participation in worship and the sacraments, as well as devoting themselves to God’s Word and prayer.
3 - Hospitable Community
It is not good for anyone to be alone. It is in the context of community that people flourish. A healthy community seeks not only to build up its members, but to make room and welcome others in.
4 - Celebration
A hallmark of our life together is joy and gratitude in God.
5 - City Positive
The gospel leads us neither to despise the city (withdrawing like a turtle) nor to simply reflect the city (blending like a chameleon) but to love the city. We seek the welfare of the city as we proclaim the gospel, believing that nothing promotes the peace and health of the city like the spread of faith in Christ. We also seek to sacrificially serve our neighbors, displaying the gospel with our deeds.
6 - Kingdom Mindset
We are intentional about networking and partnering with a great variety of churches and ministries in the city and around the world to see the gospel spread. We are not "turf-conscious" but kingdom-conscious.
7 - Equipping the Next Generation
We labor to pass on the faith to students and children, who will walk with Jesus and stay connected to his Church for a lifetime.
