Community Groups

We believe that community groups are the single best way to experience connection and care at New City. Community groups are a place for people to study, pray, share, eat, laugh, cry, and grow as we work through the awkwardness of community and learn how to be people who care for others as we life life in Christ alongside one another.

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY GROUP?

A group of 8-18 adults (and accompanying children) who meet together at least twice a month for discussion, encouragement, friendship, and prayer. Community groups are the way that care for one another and spiritual growth happens at New City.

CAN ANYONE PARTICIPATE IN A COMMUNITY GROUP?

Yes! We hope everyone at New City connects in a community group. They are for members, regulars, friends, and neighbors.

WHEN & WHERE DO COMMUNITY GROUPS MEET?

Community groups meet at a variety of times throughout the week: Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, mostly in people’s homes.

WHO ARE THE LEADERS OF THE GROUPS?

Group leaders are members of New City and have all gone through initial community group leader training as well as ongoing support and training.

ARE CHILDREN INVITED TO COMMUNITY GROUPS?

Childcare is handled by each community group and is done so in a variety of ways. Some groups have kids participate, some hire a babysitter, others take turns caring for the kiddos, some do not provide childcare at all.
