Local Mission
We are committed to approaching our neighborhood as learners, meaning that we want to be intentional about getting to know our community and its people before we initiate any new efforts. That said, we also want to learn by partnering with churches and organizations that already have great things going on in our part of town.
In our first year, you will hear of opportunities to get involved with the following:
- Whiz Kids Tutoring at John P. Parker Elementary School, as well daytime opportunities to adopt a classroom or help as teacher at JPP.
- Oakley Food Pantry - a chance to serve at the Food Pantry and also to supply donations
- Oakley After Hours - Oakley's biggest community event. New City hopes to be involved in 2010.
- Prayer Walks - At times, folks from New City will gather to walk and pray for our city and its people.
