A Cincinnati Night Before Christmas

A couple of local teachers have teamed up to write and illustrate a children's picture book that tells a true story of a local adoption and features some of the major traditional Cincinnati Christmas traditions. This Saturday morning, on National Adoption Day, Nadine Woodard Huffman (the author) and Marilyn M. Lebhar (the illustrator) will be reading and signing their book, A Cincinnati Night Before Christmas, at The Blue Manatee Children's Bookstore and Cafe in Oakley.

Madisonville Christmas Store

On December 3, New City is teaming up with New Life Temple, a long-established church in Madisonville, to provide a Christmas Store for 10-15 need-qualified families in the community. It's not a giveaway. Parents pre-pay $7 per child for the opportunity to shop and select one age-appropriate clothing item and one toy/game for each child. These items will be provided by volunteers who commit to buy them ahead of time to stock the Christmas store. The store will be set up so that parents have options in choosing presents, and then get to wrap their presents before they leave. It's thrilling to be able to aid parents and grandparents in providing Christmas presents for their children.
